The Importance of Balance

“Not only are we in the universe, the universe is in us. I don’t know of any deeper spiritual feeling than what that brings upon me.” — Neil deGrasse Tyson

I think it’s amazing how the universe shows me everything I need to move on, in a sense. Like how every past moment and experience has inspired my future, or now current, actions, thoughts, and life in general. On planet Earth, everything is so immensely complex and simple at its core all at the same time. Our morals seem set in concrete, and we can easily describe what is good or bad until we get to much more extreme circumstances. That’s why it’s important that we maintain a balance – the balance of all things. Night and day, awake and asleep, every emotion, the past, the current, and the future. They all oppose each other and yet at the same time exist in harmony as one.

Have I lost you? This may be too much to digest right now, but if you understand or want to, then I’m glad you’re here. Sometimes, knowing too much can be a burden – to know the infinite possibility that exists all around. It’s why so many people stick to their way of thinking and those without an open mind do not care to see other perspectives or consider anything more than they want to. Those who can truly open their minds to pure love and light are the most powerful. By this, I mean not to simply tolerate anything, but to feel it and love it at full capacity. Not to tolerate a job you hate, a person, a thing, anything, and not to disregard your own emotions, feelings, but to love the willpower, the freedom, and the choice that you have. To find beauty in beautiful things. Most things are beautiful.

A lot of the time, we don’t truly understand the value of things until we lose them. It is then that we are truly grateful. We must learn to be more aware of all around us for that is the balance. I find that the most simple and accurate way of describing the universe and life is simply ‘everything is’. Life is meaningless until you give it meaning and that is what makes it so special.

Think of your goals like a kite. If you just throw it in the air, it will fall. It needs wind to hold it up and help it soar. In reality, this is love, direction, and belief. Focusing on only one area of life, although it may sometimes feel the most stable option, will only bring more instability.

The balance I refer to is not between good and bad, but it is the centre of all you live for. To live without regret. To say yes when you want to say no, to say no when you want to say yes, to say yes when you want to say yes, to say no when you want to say no. To eat heathy food and take care of your body, to eat whatever you want whenever you want. To make friends, to leave people who aren’t right for you. To love, to laugh, to cry. That is the balance. What I write here is not comprehensible simply by word, but your interpretation, feelings, and whatever subconscious understanding you are able to take from all this. I am writing from my heart as someone who is still figuring it all out and yet trying to convey the limitless knowledge I receive at every moment from every moment. I advise you, if you are interested in this article, to think about this in your own way – meditate, sleep, eat, go for a walk, and begin to process what this means to you. Find the balance within your soul.
